Musicians Network Stuttgart is the name of the association that was founded in 1995 as a forum for contemporary jazz. On September 20th, this event will celebrate its first anniversary and offers the perfect occasion for a grand celebration at the Institut Français – where the network has found a permanent home. The Musicians Network is the third jazz association in Stuttgart, alongside the Jazz Society (traditional jazz) and the IG Jazz (mainstream). Branko Arnsek, the network's chairman and bassist with the White Diamonds, is fully committed to collaboration:

"Together with the other associations, we want to create a jazz lobby in Stuttgart." The Musicians Network's primary goal is to create performance opportunities for the jazz avant-garde. Arnsek is planning an open stage for free music. "Anything is possible, as long as it's innovative. It's also about interdisciplinary connections to classical modernism and other arts, be it visual arts, language, dance, photography, or film." Exchange with other musical styles is also being considered: Branko Arnsek is planning a hip-hop workshop.

The anniversary celebration will take place on three levels: in the foyer, in the concert hall, and on the institute's terrace. Franqais. There's also plenty on offer musically: Patrick Bebelaar on piano and Frank Kroll on saxophone play ethno-free jazz; Rade Soric on piano, Uwe Kühner on drums, and Florian King on bass present original compositions in the style of Carla Bley; Nicola Lutz on saxophone and Bernd Marquardt on violin offer new music with free improvisations and rock influences; the White Diamonds, with Harry Hartmann on saxophone, Branko Arnsek on bass, and Jogi Nestel on drums, offer contemporary jazz at its finest.
